Welcome, baby!

He’s here!

I actually wrote this post a few weeks ago, and could not get it to post. Then I forgot about it…oops! Things have been a little crazy…obviously. I still wanted to post it, even though the timing is all wrong!

The last time I left you I was 39 weeks and waiting on my induction to be scheduled. I was induced on the morning of Thursday, February 28th and Drew was born that day at 4:24pm.

He weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 21.5 inches long. His full name is Andrew Tate Brown, but we call him Drew. He has been such a good baby so far! At one week old he weighed 8lbs 12.5oz…a whopping 6.5 oz above his birth weight. For a breastfed baby, that is fantastic. He rarely cries, but he is very vocal- he grunts a lot and it is so cute.

Max is such a good big brother. He loves to get eye to eye with Drew and talk to him. He calls him “baby” and says “good morning,” “it’s okay,” and “hey baby,” among other things. Max is always holding his arms out to Drew and saying “lap” which means he wants to hold him…and he is so good at it. So gentle and loving. He is also a little protective of his little brother. If someone besides mommy or daddy holds Drew, Max tends to get a little upset and lets that person know pretty quickly that Drew needs mommy or daddy. It’s really sweet.

We just have three short days left in Greensboro before the big moving day now, and there is a ton of stuff left to do. So…I will keep this short. I will post more pictures and such once we get settled at the new house! Wish us luck with the move and keep us all in your prayers…we are hoping the transition will be smooth and easy for all of us!
